Texas Instruments is investing over $60 billion to build seven semiconductor fabrication plants across Texas and Utah, marking one of the largest domestic chip manufacturing expansions in U.S. history. The initiative aims to create more than 60,000 jobs in engineering and production roles while bolstering America's strategic position in global tech competition.

The MOVE comes as geopolitical tensions and supply chain vulnerabilities drive renewed focus on domestic semiconductor production. Texas Instruments, a cornerstone of analog and embedded chip technology, will prioritize manufacturing components for consumer electronics, automotive systems, and critical infrastructure.

This industrial push aligns with broader federal efforts to reduce reliance on foreign-made semiconductors, particularly amid escalating technological rivalry with China. The company's announcement highlights partnerships with major tech firms including Apple, Ford, and SpaceX.
